Jabalia Terror: Dozens Injured and Killed in Israeli Airstrikes
May 16, 2025
Aday of horror has befallen the Jabalia Camp in the northern Gaza Strip, where dozens of civilians, mostly women and children, have been injured and killed amid intense Israeli airstrikes. The bombardments, which have continued unabated since dawn, have left a trail of destruction and despair, with entire families buried under the rubble of their homes. Overcrowded hospitals are struggling to treat the injured, many in critical condition, as the death toll continues to rise.
Israel has stepped up its offensive against Gaza, using fighter jets, drones, helicopters and heavy artillery, as well as naval fire on coastal areas. The strikes, described as “relentless” by witnesses, have indiscriminately hit homes, streets and temporary shelters where civilians were seeking refuge. The Jabalia camp, already devastated by previous operations, is experiencing another chapter of pure terror, with reports of bodies being pulled from the rubble every minute.
The last 24 hours have seen a shocking toll: more than 220 Palestinians dead, including 130 since dawn on Wednesday alone. The pace of the massacres is so fast that before one tragedy is fully reported, another has already occurred. Disoriented children wander among the rubble, while desperate mothers search for their children under the ruins. The international community remains silent as Gaza plunges into a bloodbath.
Human rights organizations strongly condemn the attacks, classifying them as war crimes due to the high number of civilian casualties. The UN warns of an irreversible humanitarian catastrophe, with hospitals without medicine, a lack of drinking water and power cuts worsening the crisis. Meanwhile, the Israeli government justifies the operation as a "response to terrorist attacks", ignoring the unbearable human cost imposed on a population already besieged for years.
The world can no longer turn a blind eye to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. With each bombing, hope for peace fades, replaced by grief and outrage. As the violence continues, the question that resonates among survivors is: how long will the international community allow Israel to massacre Palestinians with impunity? It is time to press for an immediate ceasefire and justice for the innocent victims. Gaza is crying out for help , and silence is complicity.
